Notes for contest participants

 

1.  Class division

     MS-class: Mini-size class: This is done as a game.

The car has a width less than 105mm. The participants compete for the speed. The measurement starts when the car passes the position of the sensor for the first time. The time until the next passing is measured.

     MD-class: Mini-size Acrobatic Duration class: This is done as a demonstration.

     L-class:  Manned vehicle class: This is done as a demonstration.

 

2. Car regulations

2-1: Do not use any power except Stirling engine to drive the car.

2-2: The engine should be an engine that the participant oneself produced by original working.

2-3: The working gas in the engine should be the air or nonflammable gases.

2-4: Air or water shall perform cooling and preliminary cooling. Neither dry ice nor gases is accepted.

2-5: The game of Mini class uses the oval course with length about 9 meters. The width of the course is 113mm and the height of the fence is 49mm.  The ray has crossed the course at the position of the sensor in the start area. The height is 20mm. The car is required to intercept the ray for 0.01 seconds or more by passing of the car.

 

3. Advance of Game

3-1: When starting the car, the participant can put the car in any position except the sensor area.

3-2: The participant may start the engine by pushing the car slowly.

3-4: The car under running in the course cannot be touched.

3-5: When the car stops during a run, the restart in that position is permitted. In that case, the participant may re-heat the engine. 

3-6: When a car is not able to make a goal within 2 minutes, the measurement will be ended.
